Could a USB audio adapter for 3.5mm headphones be suitable for the detachable microphone? I’ve had a Logitech G Pro wired headset that appears to have been damaged. The cord was yanked out by accident yesterday, and since then the headset isn’t functioning properly. The microphone isn’t being detected when tested via Discord, the Logitech G HUB, or directly in the sound settings. To access other audio sources, I need to switch the audio profile to the RealTek High Definition Audio option. The Logitech PRO X Gaming Headset setting is still available but doesn’t transmit any sound at all.

The headset only uses one cord, which I originally plugged into the green jack on my computer tower. It seems it was intended for that specific port, and I’ve tried other jacks as well. The only way I can hear anything now is through the RealTek setting in the sound menu. It also works when connected elsewhere, like my phone. However, I haven’t tested the microphone on my phone yet.

A friend suggested some USB adapters that might work, but these seem more affordable than replacing the headset entirely. After reading about it, it looks like many users face problems getting microphones to function through adapters, or that the microphone quality is too poor for practical use. Still, I do rely on the microphone and have it in frequent use.

I’m wondering if the jack was damaged when I removed the cord, possibly at an angle instead of straight, which might explain the current issues. I don’t have another headset to test, and I’m not sure what troubleshooting steps I could try at home without risking further damage.

The USB sound card for the headset is missing at this time, based on your description. If both the headset and microphone work with the audio splitter (which should have come with your headset), I recommend connecting the headset to the motherboard's audio ports.
