OEMs can vary in quality and performance, but they are not inherently better or worse than non-OEM products. Differences depend on factors like manufacturing standards, support, and specific features.

The terms differ slightly but generally refer to the same offering. The 'Student' designation indicates it's available for students, not just a promotional label.

You haven't heard of this, have you? They're trying to force 8.1 while they can. And 7 is already 5 years old. Although 8.1 works for 99% of users, some still need 7. That's why they'll keep selling Windows 7 Professional.

It doesn't mention home premium continuing to be offered. The only indication is "End of sales for PCs with Windows preinstalled." Apparently, they've already halted selling the OS—last year.

I encountered problems with compatibility on Windows 8 when trying to use LOTR BFME 1 or 2. It seems unrelated to the operating system itself.

Could be around 8.1 as well. It’s been a bit of a struggle adjusting to it on my laptop, honestly.

They ceased selling retail units. OEM models remain available. They claim 'PCs with Windows preinstalled' since the general market doesn<|pad|> to prefer generic units.
