So, these are my current specs:
CPU:
AMD Ryzen 5 5600 (non-x)
GPU:
RX 6650 XT
RAM:
32GB 3000Mhz
Currently playing at 1080p, but i would like to eventually upgrade to 1440p. I see a used R7 5700x3D for sale nearby at 170€, with my current CPU being sellable for 50-60€, would this be a worthwhile trade? I play a lot of CPU bound paradox games, but plenty of others like Cyberpunk, Ready or Not, Total War's, etc.
There is also the risk of the used CPU being in some way damaged, even tho the posting does not indicate so, but a new cpu would be 230€.
Any thoughts?

It depends on your situation. If you have CPU benchmarks for the games you play and the GPU can handle them, then it works.

Do special offers exist for the "XT" models like 5800 or 5900 in your area?

Hey there,
The price looks reasonable for a used CPU. It can help with many games, though not all. You might also want to consider upgrading the RAM. A 3600mhz CL16 will provide an additional boost and reduce system latency.

Sadly no, this price i found is for a used unit, even with discounts a new one would be a lot more expensive. Could probably get a 5800 for 100€ but that's a even smaller jump from a 5600
The used market in Portugal is crap, people try to sell stuff at a 20€ discount from what they bought it brand new. Here's a general overview:

The price tag of 5800x for 140€ is notable. It's worth comparing it to other options and considering whether increased clock speed would improve performance in CPU-bound games with limited core usage.

I buy half of the old second-hand CPUs on eBay for a few euros each. They come in regular bubble wrap without any ESD protection. I don’t know how long they’ll last, but since they’re cheap and my system is only 10 to 15 years old, I’m not too worried. ESD damage can appear after just a few days, months, or even years. It’s hard to predict unless you open the processor and check it under an electron microscope. At 170€, I’m unsure if I’d be ready to take that risk. You don’t know how well or badly the CPU has been used before. Spending another 60€ for peace of mind and a warranty would make sense unless these chips are unreliable from the start. If a second-hand CPU fails right away, you’ll be lucky to find one with a warranty longer than 30 days.
