Hello, I own a GTX 1060 with 6gb RAM, an i5 2500k processor, and recently swapped my motherboard and installed an i3 9100f. The results were not significantly better. I’m considering upgrading to an i7 9700k or i7 9700kf, provided I have a 9th generation motherboard, since the issues I faced were mainly with my CPU (I play Fivem/GtaV). Would an i7 9700k paired with a GTX 1060 be a balanced and playable setup? If not, what advice would you give me? I just want to enjoy gaming without stress. Thanks for your time.
I believe your GPU is limiting performance, especially given the high costs. I’d consider lowering in-game settings like med or custom until prices stabilize so you can upgrade. The i3 9100f seems weaker than expected. You might run UserBenchMark and share the results here.
