I recently acquired a brand new Ryzen 5 7600 from a friend because there was no availability nearby. After paying, the seller provided a photo indicating the CPU was made in 2022. The package is sealed and includes a 3-year warranty, so I expect it to be in good condition. Are you worried about any potential issues?

The manufacturer's warranty begins from the purchase date at an authorized store or distributor. Irrespective of how long ago it was made and left on a shelf, most manufacturers such as AMD, Intel, Nvidia or their partners typically do not require it to be bought in your name. They usually ask for proof of original bill of sale or invoice to verify the purchase date and ensure compliance.

In certain countries, like Serbia, laws require a minimum two-year store warranty for all electronic products. Distributors or importers must provide a warranty list for each product they sell. If they do not, you must reach out directly to the manufacturer.

Based on your location, the manufacturer's warranty might no longer be valid. Typically, you need to be the original buyer and purchase it from a certified seller. A CPU from 2022 should work just fine. If you're comfortable with uncertain warranty coverage, you shouldn't be too concerned about its age.
