Yes, poor connections and I'm in a remote location. I'm willing to pay for quicker speeds, but 550Kb/s is my limit.

You have the option to verify updates before beginning your game session. This ensures everything is ready and you can fully enjoy your gaming experience.

It's uncertain whether you'll get the reservation pop-up when purchasing Windows 8.1 Pro from a seller on Reddit. You've handled it with Windows 7, but the process might differ with Windows 8.1.

I can't guarantee you'll receive the pop-up since I'm not affiliated with Microsoft. Technically, you should. Some users say they have a valid Windows license, but that's just a trick to appear legitimate. From what I know, the 'reserve' option is meant for you to download Windows 10 after its official release—so by July 29th you'd have it. (It will be released in phases, possibly 1-2 days after the date.) If you're using Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8.x Pro, you'll receive Windows 10 Pro instead.

Yes, it's true. With a Windows 8.1 Pro key, you can upgrade directly from within Windows without needing to download ISO files or use tools like Rufus.

Upgrading from Windows 7 or 8.1 to Windows 10 through the built-in option will transform your system. If a full reinstall isn't necessary, no ISO file is required. Windows Update will fetch the new version, and the upgrade begins once you restart. Most applications, files, and games remain intact. Security tools—like firewalls, antivirus, and anti-malware—are typically excluded unless they might block the process. After the upgrade finishes, any remaining security software must be reinstalled to avoid issues.

I didn't clarify my position clearly. I'm using Windows 7 Home Premium, and if I purchase a Windows 8.1 Pro license, can I upgrade from Windows 7 to 8.1 Pro without downloading ISO files or using Rufus? I believe I can just download the MS Upgrade Assistant, enter the code, and switch to Windows 8.1 directly? Thanks for understanding.

Ah! Never tried with upgrade assistance. But you can upgrade, and not have to do a clean install.

It functions properly...the reason it doesn’t seem clear is unknown.
