Hello everyone, I’m thinking about switching to Windows 10 soon. I’ve heard it might install updates automatically without any notice or delay choice. For me, a 550Kb/s download speed means in-game updates could really slow things down. If my ping spikes while updates start, I won’t be able to play properly. Is this a deal-breaker for me?

I expect you'll be able to pause the updates as needed, and I understand you want the option to notify you.

Yes, you can turn it off and halt it in the professional edition, not the basic one...

On the technical preview, there are no options available. You might consider creating a script to stop the Windows update service, disabling updates during gameplay and reactivating them afterward.

From what I gathered, the technical preview relies on the pro version rather than the home version.

Unrealistic solution if there's no other point to having a Pro version of the OS.
