I prefer not to play free mode; heist, missions, and races are enjoyable.

Based on my observations, it can be really enjoyable, quite dull, or slow to respond.

Playing with friends is definitely a good idea.

Are the loading times normal? I haven’t seen anything unusually slow, though I’m using my game install on a second SSD.

When you interact with others, remember they won't be friendly. They'll aim to eliminate you quickly if they notice you.

Playing GTA off an HDD feels smooth and the loading times are surprisingly short. Online gameplay is really engaging, especially when you team up with friends. We pulled off some heists last night with a group, which was a lot of fun. I also enjoyed some solo roaming and challenged other players for a laugh. If you're not in passive mode, it's all about staying alive. Some people don't like it, but I've gotten used to it from DayZ—it's genuinely entertaining. It's tough yet rewarding. I didn’t originally intend to buy GTA5, but a friend persuaded me with a discount voucher, and I ended up getting in. No worries at all.
