This appears to be a Windows 8 Pro CD key for 32-bit and 64-bit versions. It does not match the pirate Windows key URL provided.

They sometimes distribute student discounts that lose validity within a year or two, and offering such codes is considered unlawful according to Microsoft's policies.

It falls somewhere in between. What John said is accurate, but it seems a key might only last a couple years.

If Windows stops functioning after roughly two years, you can remove it and purchase a new version.

It seems you don’t have to remove them entirely. Just reactivate with a fresh key, and you can continue purchasing them every few years or build up your own supply.

Windows 9 will probably be released in two years, i wouldn't bother stocking up on these.

For gaming options, it's okay—though some were taken for Sniper Elite 3 and many trusted stores weren't available. With Windows keys, opinions are mixed; some think they might be selling student or MSDN keys that violate Microsoft terms, but the legality is unclear. If you need completely safe purchases, stick to regular retailers.

Based on the cost, I could purchase one or two at a later time. But only if something compels me to reinstall.
