is G2A a legit site? if so how do I use it?
I've owned my PC for around six months and mostly purchased games from Steam or Origin. A friend mentioned G2A and its extremely high prices, which made me hesitant at first because they also engage in piracy. However, I discovered their surprisingly low prices. Watch Dogs popped up and mentioned a price of $3 in some countries and $20 in the US. Could I buy the code from another country and use it with Steam in the US? Also, how do I redeem these codes after purchasing them? Please don't laugh if I seem confused or made a mistake—I just want to avoid wasting money. Thanks! P.S. I’m aware of their protection plan.
I've tried G2A for a few games. It's secure, just use G2A Shield and it should work. They'll provide you with a code and steps to claim it.
It falls into a gray zone—they purchase keys from lower-cost regions such as Eastern Europe and sell them. Keys purchased there have been blocked before, while Steam keys seem to be safe at least for now. Be cautious with region-limited keys; you’ll need a VPN to use them. For more details on banned keys, see this article: http://www.vg247.com/2015/01/28/g2a-resp...s-debacle/
If G2A is genuine, then why do some users insist on purchasing their Shield protection? I’ll switch to another platform that doesn’t make me anxious about the product.
Most of your questions have been addressed, but can I purchase keys from other countries? Would the game be available in English and suitable for playing with Americans if it's a multiplayer game? Also, will I be interacting with foreigners? (I'm in the US) Thanks for all the helpful feedback.
