Is FiveM not functioning properly?
Hey everyone, it's me once more! I'm dealing with some issues in my FiveM game.
I recently upgraded to a new PC:
Hardware:
Processor: MOBO GIGABYTE Aorus Elite V2
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600x Stock
Cooler: BeQuiet Pure Rock 2 FX RGB
GPU: AMD Radeon RX 7800-XT 16GB Powercolor Hellhound
RAM: 32GB G.Skill Trident Z RGB DDR4-3200 DIMM CL16
Power Supply: BeQuiet system power 12 750w
Case: NZXT Midi Tower H5 Flow (with multiple coolers and a GPU cooler)
Software:
Operating System: Windows 11
After the upgrade, I noticed performance problems in FiveM. Initially, I played at maximum graphics settings with MSAA enabled, but I saw no improvement. Even after switching to max settings with MSAA disabled and advanced off, frame drops occurred. In some areas—like Los Santos or Sandy shores—I dropped from around 100 FPS to 40-50 FPS. Using FiveMods with the REDUX graphics mod didn’t help much either.
I considered a CPU bottleneck and increased my render resolution to 4K, but that only improved the visuals without fixing the lag. I also tried changing servers, but nothing changed.
My current stats show about 110 FPS, but it still feels like 40-50. I’m using FiveMods with REDUX, which should be fine given my GPU specs, but performance issues persisted even before adding mods.
I know my hardware is brand new—every component was purchased from Mindfactory—and there are no used parts in this build.
I’ve tried turning things on/off, adjusting XMP settings, changing power plans, deleting and reinstalling GPU drivers, and toggling vSync. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Hi,
It seems those around here have more solutions than the FiveM team, which is why I reached out for assistance on this forum.
When carrying out this modification, what initial release did you work with?
The reason I inquire is that Rockstar released a free version of this game a few years ago that was considered a poor quality launch. Many discussions revolved around issues in that edition. Do you own the original paid version, an updated one, or the free release?
Also worth mentioning are numerous content creators and reviewers who have talked about problems using the game on hardware that is actually too powerful for the engine, leading to complications.
TH forums is an international platform covering various topics. It addresses hardware and software concerns, as well as suggestions for both. Essentially, it includes everything related to consumer electronics such as TVs, DACs, and home appliances. I wonder if this broad forum can truly surpass the specialized FiveM forums, where discussions are strictly focused on third-party mods.
Of course, TH forums attract more users, but that doesn’t necessarily mean dedicated FiveM forums are inferior. The developers in FiveM forums are directly involved, making it harder for them to provide detailed assistance. You might find more effective support in the specific forums you’re targeting.
Talking about it, have you created a topic in the FiveM forums regarding your problem?
