I was focusing on the Institute, BoS, and The Railroad. I’ve already aligned with The Institute, sided with The Railroad, and now I’m starting a character to back The BoS. Except for taking down The Institute, the Minuteman path ends fairly soon. ^^^ That’s what I meant by the spoilers, right? Just press the “Click to read hidden contents” button.
It varies based on your preferences. If you enjoy crafting, settlement development, and managing settlements, exploring for enjoyment with enhanced combat compared to earlier games, then yes—you’ll love Fallout 4. On the other hand, if you value detailed characters, meaningful dialogue, compelling storytelling, special side missions, the ending presentation, and the impact of your decisions within the Fallout world, you may find Fallout 4 disappointing.
Absolutely. It's a more gameplay-focused experience this time. Less emphasis on story and choices, but the action is great. The crafting system and exploration are solid. The world is smaller but packed with spots. The settlement feels nice, and I've put a lot of effort into it, though it doesn't really change much. You don't have to spend money to progress, so the shops seem pointless. Overall, it's a solid strategy game that's worth every dollar.
You handle settlements by managing their growth and development, incorporating them into both gameplay mechanics and the in-game economy.
It feels a bit hurried at times, but overall it’s quite enjoyable. It doesn’t really affect the story in any way. The surrounding world also doesn’t play a significant role. It’s just a fun "Lego" project that sometimes gets criticized. If you enjoy constructing, you can invest hours building defenses, turrets, barriers, and managing resources. I designed my settlement fortresses using defense turrets, barriers, and manpower. I created a lot of items inside the settlements, set up trading routes, and frequently updated buildings and interiors until I was satisfied. Now I have some older screenshots of the settlements I built.
I hoped NPCs would visit and ask if they could live with you. This idea came from a FO3/FONV mod: http://www.nexusmods.com/newvegas/mods/36922/? I’m excited to try it out someday. We’re also highlighting our setup now, huh? =P My base:
