Is employing four 4DIMMS units paired with an Intel 285K processor detrimental?
If you were to guess, what chances do you think there are for those two kits to hit 8000Mhz at their designed CL36 and 1.4V together? Is the chance under half? I'm planning to use a 420 AIO with direct fans on the RAMS, right above them. Also, assuming they actually work, would using two dual-channels instead of one affect performance, like lowering FPS in games?
It really depends on the silicon selection and how well the IMC manages voltage and speed to exceed standard performance. The temperature of the IMC could be negatively affected by high temperatures, but the main factor is the IMC's design and its ability to handle those conditions. If all four DIMM slots are filled, you might need to stick to a basic Jedec setup, which could lower performance compared to using two slots at full speed. There’s a minor exception: Intel IMCs generally cope better with single or dual channels, while AMD CPUs are much more sensitive, often seeing a significant boost—typically 20-25% for single versus dual—and usually only a modest gain of around 10% from single to dual channel.
The chances are slim. A rough estimate would be around 5%.
Successfully getting all four components to function and passing memtest probably demands faster speeds and quicker timings.
If games rely heavily on RAM speed, that would be problematic.
However, you probably won’t notice much because other elements will compensate.
Since you already have them, give it a shot.
Consider using a 2 stick setup and see how it performs.

If none of the four sticks reach 8000, I won’t stick with them all. I’ll update you on how the IMC dealt with it.
If two DIMMs fail MemTest86 at 8000MT/s, for instance dropping to 7600MT/s, you should consider that slower RAM is preferable to having no RAM. I possess several quad channel Xeon server boards with all eight DIMM slots filled. The challenge lies in distinguishing between the count of slots and the number of IMC channels.
Is that a chance? I relied on Patriot to verify them before promoting them at 8000. I’m asking, with a $600 motherboard, the most powerful 420 AIO, and fans right above the RAM—what could possibly go wrong? A faulty lottery with the IMC?

I think time works best as a checker. Unless you're handling critical situations, don't push it too hard. If it runs smoothly and no problems show up during your work, that's a success. Just confirm the system isn't stuck in a loop before trying to make it start again.

Product is Patriot Viper 8000@CL36 Elite 5 Ultra, and I have two separate kits.
2-DIMM Setup:
XMP Profile 1: 8000, 36-52-52-126 1.4V
Both kits failed.
MEMTEST.
XMP Profile 2: 7800, 38-48-48-84 1.4V
Both kits passed MEMTEST.
XMP Profile 3: 7600, 36-48-48-84 1.4V
Both kits passed MEMTEST.
HYNIX Profile 8000, 40-48-48-128 1.4V
Passed (tried just one kit).
4-DIMM Setup:
XMP Profile 1 / 2 / 3:
All kits together failed all XMP profiles and didn’t boot.
HYNIX Profile 7200, 38-44-44-105 1.45V:
The kits passed two rounds of MEMTEST, but I didn’t have time to continue.
HYNIX Profile 7200, 36-46-46-115 1.35V:
Failed to boot.
