Checking if an upgrade is beneficial depends on your specific needs and system configuration. DDR3 to DDR4 offers improved performance and stability, but whether it's worth it for your 16GB SSD hinges on factors like workload type and future upgrades.

It varies based on your needs. Usually, the RAM upgrade is included when switching to a newer motherboard or CPU, particularly for regular users.

It's clearly worthwhile since you'll need it for the newer system.

Some motherboards support DDR3 but not DDR4, while others only work with DDR4 and cannot handle DDR3.

Upgrade your CPU and motherboard to ensure compatibility. Different DDR versions don’t work together, and while some exceptions exist, it’s not cost-effective.

DDR3 works fine at 2000MHz with a case, even on a CPU that’s 9. You can still benefit from it if your RAM and board are quality.

He thought he was suggesting a simple upgrade from DDR3 to DDR4. In reality, 16GB should handle most desktop needs, including gaming.
