WOW! I recall this from many years past.
CrystalMark Retro 2.0.6 is a contemporary version or revival of the original CrystalMark benchmarking software, which originated in the early 2000s. You're probably remembering it from its earlier form.

A bit of context:
CrystalMark 2004R3 was a widely used all-in-one benchmarking tool during the Windows XP time. It tested CPU, memory, HDD, graphics (GDI/OpenGL), and Direct3D, helping users assess system performance across various components. Its interface was simple and lightweight, making it a favorite among hardware reviewers and enthusiasts.

CrystalMark Retro:
This updated version brings back the classic CrystalMark experience with a retro-style UI while retaining its core functionality. It’s tailored for modern PC enthusiasts who enjoy vintage software but still want to benchmark their systems effectively.

After removing the new installer, I didn't find any signs of adware. It seems the version without *Ads is free of ads. Great news!
