It's evident from just 200MHz that this matters, particularly when comparing 2133 versus 3000 MHz, as your RAM is designed for that speed. Running the RAM at its rated frequency won't damage any parts.
The Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 MHz C15 kit is designed to operate at DDR4 3000 from the start. You should update this in the BIOS using the XMP option right away, as you’ll notice a performance gap, especially on a Ryzen system. Going beyond that, you could try DDR4 3200 without much hassle, but it would require adjusting some RAM configurations. I recommend starting with XMP to ensure you’re getting the advertised speed, and then explore overclocking resources on YouTube if you wish to push things further.
As I mentioned on PM, the 3D mark score improves when the RAM timings get tighter. This could be helpful for you. With just the RAM timing adjusted, I see a score between 11300-11500 for the CPU. This is better than the stock 3600 CL16 which gives 10700 time spy CPU marks. So, overclocking the RAM and adjusting the timings makes sense. Also, I sometimes boost the IF with the RAM to enhance performance. The only downside is that if you're already GPU limited, you might not notice a game improvement, but your CPU tuning could still benefit from better RAM. I'm using a Samsung B-Die.
you can adjust settings manually or apply xmp. for manual overclocking, try different methods and see what works best; otherwise, stick with the standard xmp approach.
