Is audio only available on the left side of headphones?
For no clear explanation, my audio only plays from the left side. It worked yesterday. At first, I assumed it was with my headphones (I tend to drop them often), but switching to another pair didn’t fix the issue. I understand it’s not the port causing the problem, since the first pair uses a USB port and the second uses a headphone jack on my monitor. I’ve tried unplugging and plugging in, restarting the computer, adjusting balances, and updating drivers, but nothing resolved it. Have others experienced this, and if so, what solutions did they use? Thank you for any advice.
I might have dropped them often and dropped them a lot.
It could be that you hurt the inside parts of the headphones, causing the wire to come loose or fall out.
The issue isn’t with the port, since the first pair uses a USB port and the second uses a headphone jack on my monitor.
Have you tried using the headset on another device? You didn’t mention the brand or model of your headphones.
What was the fix?
When sharing a troubleshooting thread, it’s good to provide full system details. List them clearly as:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
RAM:
Storage (SSD/HDD):
GPU:
Power supply:
Chassis:
Operating System:
Monitor:
Add the age of the power supply, along with its make and model.
Also include the BIOS version for your motherboard.
In your case, mention your audio gear too.
I tested the headphones on my laptop and they functioned properly.
I just want to note one point — any USB audio device comes with its own dedicated "sound card." This means that even though you might think the audio over USB is functioning, it doesn't guarantee that the stereo jack on the computer case is in good condition.
