No, in Apex even 285k will be significantly outperformed by 7700x, but not drastically.

This information comes from 51972, a well-known channel on bilibili (a video platform similar to Nikoniko in China).
The variation isn't significant, and other routine daily tasks at 265k are better than 7700x, so aim for 265K.

Wow, the 265K definitely has a clear edge for me. That would make a big difference in my situation.
I mostly use the PC for playing my golf simulator, doing word processing, and browsing the web. I was hoping to try a few games like a flight simulator or a warship battle game. That sounds interesting. But I'm definitely not a big gamer.
Thank you so much for your help!

The gaming benchmarks look good. I didn't think the 265K would be that much quicker for productivity tasks. It seems like a solid choice, especially considering the price of $300. Thanks a lot for your assistance!

For comprehensive CPU test outcomes, look up "51972 年度cpu bilibili". It evaluated all widely used CPUs for both gaming and productivity tasks, delivering excellent results.

Oh damn, 265K is now 1999CNY(249USD), and it's definitely a great product to buy now, which kills every AMDCPU in perf/price ratio. 9950x is still at 3600CNY which is almost twice the price of 265K, while 7950x is 2800, still 800CNY more than 265K.
Which board have you bought? Now I'm a 265K lover and want to get some advices

Hi, thanks for your message! I chose the 285 because it came with a New Egg bundle deal for the ROG Z890 Apex, which is the only motherboard available for consumer CPUs with PCIe 4.0 slots above PCIe 5.0 slots. This was important since I needed those slots for extra I/O with my two GPUs.

I'll choose a more economical board option.
