it appears in settings as certified when it natively supports it, though fundamentally you require an SDR display with a broader color range than sRGB.

im not seeing it...and some small diging shows this:
To enable ACM, a global registry key can be used, which will enable ACM support for all SDR monitors all the time:
Locate within the registry the global GraphicsDrivers regkey (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\GraphicsDrivers)
Right click “Add” -> DWORD
Name: EnableAcmSupportDeveloperPreview
value: 1
If the monitor is already plugged in, you will need to disconnect and re-connect it. In case of internal panel, restart the laptop.
Go to
Settings
>
Display
>
Advanced Display
, select correct display and turn on
Automatically manage color for apps
Note:
Registry key is for app developer use only.

It would be better if they provided a list of monitors somewhere.

I don't have HDR yet, so I won't bother searching for it. Maybe one day I will. Not adjusting the monitor anytime soon... particularly just to enable a Windows feature.

Display color ranges include sRGB, DCI-P3, and Rec. 2020, replacing sRGB. What are these color spaces? They define how well a screen reproduces colors. Which should you expect in your next screen buy? www.androidauthority.com

Need something like this to use it, and then you have the risk of burn in.
I can't afford an all new PC/GPU just to get that screen to turn on a feature
I can wait, its probably not worth the effort. Buy all that and find it doesn't even work.
