I tested my 2700x overclock using Prime95, reaching a maximum temperature of 90°C. Was that typical or unusually high?

Looks like ~90C is typical, though.
It's too hot, though. It will throttle at 90C. I just run stock with the higher single-core boost.

What release of P95 are we talking about? It looks like version 29.4 build 8. It seems around 90C is typical.

Yeah, I know it's high, but it doesn't get close to that when playing games. With GTA V, it caps at 50C with the overclock.

Latest iterations of P95 incorporate AVX operations, leading to increased processor temperatures. Consider using P95 v26.6.
