Hello, making this thread to find some people smarter than me that can solve this issue for me. Here's the barebones issue. Frametime Spikes. I'm not new to computers so I'll try to explain this as intelligently as possible. I also dealt with this issue on a Gaming Desktop PC I built so I'm not new to this issue. This is a brand new G733PZ Asus Rog Strix SCAR17 gaming laptop . CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 7945HX with Radeon Graphics, 2501 Mhz, 16 Core(s), 32 Logical Processor(s) GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU GDDR6 @ 12GB (192 bits) RAM: Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 32.0 GB OS: Windows 11 Here are some examples. Note, the stuttering is not huge, it can be quite minute at times, while at other quite noticeable. Are there any suggestions for this? Things I've tried: Resetting Laptop and launching the game off a clean wipe. Messing with all Nvidia Control Panel settings. Capping framerate with Nvidia and RTSS. Messing with in game settings, disabling and enabling DLSS, VSYNC, GSYNC Etc. Adjusting fan speeds to keep components cooler. Unplugging anything USB. Running through multiple benchmarks to make sure temps of components are good. Updating BIOS. Clean Driver Install. Older Version of Driver installed using DDU. Different settings in ArmoryCrate, Performance/Turbo. In the picture that is attached, I have RDR2 Capped at 70 FPS using RTSS, so that keeps the frames stable, yet I still get these frametime spikes which will cause these small stutters. Any suggestions welcome. This is a 3k Laptop so I feel like it shouldn't be doing this.
look at the temps when they go up, and make sure you're using the drivers that came with your ASUS parts from the website.
I already tried using DDU and reinstalling drivers on the ASUS website, but that didn't help at all. So now I have up-to-date drivers just to see if it made a difference. Anyway, here is a video of Red Dead Redemption 2 where RTSS limits my FPS to 70 to keep things stable from the start. If you watch this video, you can still get your frames even though I set that limit in-game. What do you think? Also, I turned up the CPU fan speeds in Armory Crate so it stays cooler while playing. I ran a benchmark, but it says my graphics card is missing. I looked into that problem several times without finding a fix. It shows up in the list, but when it gets to testing the GPU for a split second and then jumps to the next one instead of finishing the test. I checked if Windows was working fine and tried fixing things again. The memory tests passed too. Just to make sure I understand: should I do a clean boot first, try running the game, and watch for any stutter or big drops in frame time?

Do you have to put the AMD and NVIDIA drivers on Asus machines?
sure, i already did that. now we should try a clean boot up and run the game to check what comes up.
