It really shouldn't matter, I've tried a curved TV and noticed some games improve. I didn't notice any downsides.

I think most curved displays offer a 4ms reaction time while typical flat screens provide around 1ms. Honestly, I’d be surprised if anyone would really notice the distinction.

In CSGO and similar fast-paced shooters, the focus is usually on the center of the screen about 90% of the time. This might make it easier to notice things at the edges. For more immersive experiences, you could notice a bigger difference in cinematic games.
