You're evaluating upgrades for your PC setup. The jump from a 3600 to a 5600X and 3060 is significant, but your current system runs smoothly. The added RAM might help with occasional high-frame-rate video editing, though noticeable gains in export times aren't guaranteed. Doubling your RAM to 32GB could be worthwhile depending on your workload, but it's not strictly necessary if you're comfortable with 16GB. Consider your specific needs before deciding.

You can spot the variation, but if you're not always in a rush 16GB works fine. For those prioritizing efficiency, a 4x8GB package in 32GB will really help.

It remains a solid setup, but if you need additional memory, simply add more RAM.

It might offer a slight advantage over 16 gigabytes, particularly if the 32-gig setup yields two ranks per memory channel. This memory layout provides performance improvements with Ryzen processors.

I’m preparing this update so you can present it to your friend effectively in a month.

If the agreement is valid and you have a solid reason, then proceed confidently. Just a note, I handle videos in 1080p smoothly and I only need 16GB of memory.

Well.. if you need the extra ram for sure grab it obviously. If you don't need it, that's ok too.. there is a performance gain to be had, and it shows up everywhere, not just in games. Its not a huge bump, I cant say if its worth the extra cost. But if cost is not an issue, and you just want the best.. for sure grab 4x8. 3200 C14 is what I bought. I did break up my pairs for a second build. I have the CPU and ram, just gotta pick a board, but I am not sure if the board is for him or me I wouldn't mind some extra doo dads built into the board, but have a matx case so that just makes thing expensive, or even more expensive depending on who I buy the board for.

32 GB offers the optimal choice for a fresh setup. 16 GB represents the updated 8 GB option.
