I recently assembled my new setup and boosted my CPU (i5 6600k) to 4.6 via the Corsair H80i V2, achieving up to 86°C on Prime95 with a 1.28v Vcore. Is it excessive heat?

80c max is possible, but most coolers nowadays should maintain it much lower. I’m only reaching around 60c with an i7 6700k at full load (except Prime95 v28.9, which is very demanding and not ideal for the chip), so anything up to 80c is quite safe. It’s unlikely you’d hit that on other benchmarks either.
