I was testing CPUID during a Cinebench run and noticed two cores hit 79°C while others stayed in the mid-70s. Is that excessive? Should I replace the heatsink? Your room is likely around 22°C. CPU model: Intel i5 4690, processor: Arctic 11 GT Rev.2.

79C works well with the 4690 model and handles full capacity without issues. You can relax about it.

CPUs are usually okay because they can handle themselves against overheating, especially at high speeds. Most users prefer keeping temperatures below 80°C, and the current readings show everything is well within safe limits.

I ran another Cinebench test and noticed the CPU temperature hitting 88–89°C. That’s a bit high. You might want to consider upgrading your cooling solution. Which option do you prefer? The Arctic Alpine 12 or the Antec A30?
