It's true that 8700K has aged a bit now. Five years is a solid run. It’s a decent CPU, just starting to lose some performance. To be honest, I used my X58 for about nine to ten years and it performed fine. What really caused its decline was the lack of GC support in SSD Raid 0. After that, I upgraded to 3770K and ran it for roughly three years before switching to 3600XT, then 5600X, followed by 5900X, and finally back down to 5800X3D. But a 5900X reaching 5150MHz on air is quicker than a 6GHz 8700K in Pi 32M. I’m just aware of that through some friendly comparison. My 5600X system is now hitting the full 4850MHz, which is still impressive. That’s what I think.
Only the numbers matter. I likely slept with more supermodels than the number of programs built for E cores.
