Is 32 GB of RAM sufficient for YouTube content creation, video editing, and gaming?
I am thinking about constructing two desktop computers. One for PC gaming and another for editing YouTube videos and drone footage in 4K. Just in case the gaming PC needs to manage basic YouTube content creation and drone editing, I want it to perform adequately. For the gaming setup, I plan to use an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D CPU, an Nvidia RTX 5070/5070 Ti or Radeon RX 9070/9070 XT GPU, and either a 1440p or 4K monitor based on the GPU's capabilities. I’m wondering if 32 GB of RAM would suffice for these tasks.
You may consider upgrading to 64GB of RAM for better performance. In 2025, gaming and everyday activities require 32GB as the norm. For a balance between gaming and productivity, 232GB is possible, but 64GB helps maintain smooth operation. Just a note, those options are more than necessary for 1440p games. 4K is fine, though you can reduce it slightly for 1440p.
I believe they aren't too much for 1440p, given their limited VRAM. The x070 line is aimed at that resolution. A 64gb setup makes the most sense. Look for a solid 2x32gb DDR5 6000 cl30 kit, such as G-skill flare x or Z5 Neo.
