Hi, here are your details: i7 9700k running at 5.00ghz and 1.3v wAIO 240mm Asus Prime Z390M Plus with 2x8GB DDR4 at 3000mhz. I’m using HyperX Predator Gigabyte RTX 2080 Super Gaming OC Seasonic Focus FM 650W Gold with an 80+ 2K screen. I experience stuttering in certain games such as NFS Heat, COD BO4, Mafia 2 & 3, Two Point Hospital, and Planet Zoo. Other titles like Shadow of War, Tomb Raider, Anno 1800, Overwatch, Total War, Warhammer 2, Three Kingdoms and Troy don’t stutter. The issue isn’t consistent across all games but bothers me. I’ve tried changing RAM, slots, BIOS settings, disabling OC, using multiple drivers and versions, and even ran stress tests. Sometimes I notice coil whine, which disappears briefly when stutter happens in the first millisecond. A friend suggested it could be a motherboard problem.
I'm curious about whether your 2080Super is reaching its PWR-Wall differently. Instead of a steady 15MHz drop, could it 'skip' over a brief jump of 30-45MHz and then return? A smooth line with just one tiny 1ms spike would make me think that way. I've seen this pattern on my 2080Ti as well.
It exceeds the 250 power threshold, I should review spikes in core clocks.
