I was adjusting my MAC address on the Netgear router to switch my IP, but now the ISP no longer assigns me a new one. It seems like the change stopped working. Anyone have any idea why this might be happening? More details would help.

The ISP likely altered their method for assigning IP addresses. They probably offer various options for setting up an IP address. Have you turned off both the modem and router after making the change?

I used to need to restart the router after making changes, but now it works whenever I update the MAC address. I tried rebooting the router and modem yesterday, but that didn’t help.

If you're trying to stay ahead of restrictions, we can't keep helping you. Ultimately, only your ISP will tell you if their IP assignment process has shifted. Have you reached out to them for clarification? That’s the right place to begin.
