Good evening everyone, I'm facing a tricky issue. My setup requires remote access to a security camera using a desktop ISP connection. The camera is located where only a 4G router with a SIM card provides internet. We have IP passthrough enabled and can reach the router over standard ISP networks, but not via regular broadband. The challenge is finding the missing configuration to allow remote access on normal internet.

The APN configurations (essentially the router settings linking the cellular network to the internet) can enable Mobile-to-Mobile connections but block Internet-to-Mobile. You should contact your mobile carrier and ask them to permit connections from non-mobile IP addresses. They may adjust the APN your SIM uses by default or supply a specific APN value you need to configure on your 4G router.

Thank you for the response. I'll reach out to the cell provider and request an investigation. It seems they provided a custom APN with a static IP, which might indicate a configuration issue on their end. I'll keep you updated once further details become available.
