Investigate the issue causing the build to halt unexpectedly.
Hello there, fellow tech enthusiasts. I recently installed a new setup about a month ago. The computer ran smoothly for a week until one morning I tried to power it on after waking up. Here’s what I have connected: Aorus Elite x570 AMD Ryzen 7 3900X, AMD Sapphire 5700XT Nitro+, Corsair Vengeance LPX 3000 MHz, 32GB RAM, Samsung 970 Evo, EVGA Supernova T2 1000W, and a 500W PSU. I’m not an expert, but I spent two afternoons trying to fix it, debating between the motherboard, CPU, and power supply. Unfortunately, the Aorus Elite didn’t give any warning signals or beeps. Even when I added a speaker (maybe it wasn’t working), nothing changed. After much effort, I had to return the motherboard, which caused me some frustration. Customer service left me without help for two weeks. Eventually, I got a new Aorus Elite x570 board, but the system still wouldn’t boot. I reset the CMOS and updated the BIOS via Q-flash Plus. The PSU passed tests with the included checker, and all fans were active. Yet the graphics card wouldn’t light up or start. The motherboard indicator flashed when I powered on the PSU but stayed off when I turned the computer on. I recall it worked initially, so I suspect the issue might be with the CPU. I changed the CPU cable connected to the PSU, but it didn’t help. Anyone know what the motherboard light means? Is there something wrong with the CPU? I don’t have a spare CPU and plan to reach out to stores for testing. Just wanted to mention that I only tested everything with one RAM stick, swapped it between tests to rule it out. Even without it. Why would Gigabyte wipe all troubleshooting data on their boards? This seems unrealistic. Not even the speaker works. I’m exhausted and feeling confused. Hopefully, they’ll replace the CPU if that’s the problem. Thanks to everyone who read my update and any help you can offer!
To check the processor performance, take it out and send the board here. If the problem persists, try another power supply. I saw you mentioned testing the PSU, so do it regardless. However, the graphics card isn't lighting up. This suggests the power supply might be the issue.
Yes, you'll see an error on the screen indicating the CPU is missing. The CPU indicator light will turn on to show this issue, or both. Have a great night and good luck!
I removed the CPU from the motherboard. Only one RAM stick, the graphics card, and the case fan are connected. No action occurs. The power supply light stays on but nothing happens when I press the start button. I changed the RAM without fans and with or without the PSU cable for the CPU, but it didn’t work.
Remove the motherboard from the case. Disconnect all components that can be detached from it and set them aside. Reassemble carefully, ensuring everything fits tightly. Go slowly, checking for clicks and confirming clasps engage properly. Attempt to power on, possibly using a screwdriver to jump the connections.
Removing the board from the case helps because only a few connections are made there—just the 24-pin cable and the 8-pin CPU cable. Since each attempt fails, changing these connections might improve the outcome. I’m trying to fix everything from scratch, but it’s unclear if that will help.
I received a chance to work with a friend who left him a working computer to check which parts were faulty. Immediately, I tried his CPU on his motherboard using his PSU and GPU—it functioned perfectly. My 3900X appears to be dead, but I’m unsure why. What could have caused this? I’ve never heard of a CPU failing before. It’s only been about a month, and I haven’t used it more than a week without overclocking. I’ll attempt to find a replacement. Key takeaways: The X570 Aorus Elite won’t illuminate its LED when the CPU isn’t running. The speaker attached doesn’t work at all with a dead CPU. It emitted a beep when connected to a working CPU, which didn’t help. This board seems unresponsive even with a GPU installed. I’ll follow up once I get a response from customer service. Appreciate the help from Stu_Bear and ShrimpBrime.
Hello everyone, I’ve successfully received my old CPU swapped out for a fresh one through AMD Customer Service. I faced a few issues during the process, especially from the bundle provider, but everything is now resolved.
