OS: Windows 11 24H2 Details: https://pcpartpicker.com/user/Cattn/builds/#view=p3QD4D (7800X3D/4070/32GB 6000Mhz DDR5) Quest 2 with Wireless Steam Link Problems: About a month ago I started facing problems in VR, including severe artifacts and low bitrate. I thought it was software-related, tried clearing drivers and files, but nothing worked. Eventually, I reset everything while keeping the data intact and the issue disappeared. After that, more problems emerged. Mostly, apps would crash unexpectedly—often in VR, VRChat, or SteamVR, causing them to hang or stop. In the event viewer, crashes were mainly linked to ucrtbase.dll. After researching, I reinstalled MS Redistributables which helped a lot, but it didn’t fix everything. I’ve also noticed more graphical glitches in Chromium apps (artifacts, screen tearing, etc.), leading me to suspect the GPU. Despite this, my high-performance games run smoothly and benchmark results didn’t show much improvement. I haven’t updated my BIOS yet (prepared for a big storm). I’ll try again soon, but unless it’s been an issue before, I’m not sure. Please let me know if this affects you too. Key error codes: Rocket League – Faulting app name: RocketLeague.exe, version 1.0.10897.0 Time: 0x67db5f17 Exception code 0xc0000005 Process ID 0x4E64 Crash in VRChat/SteamVR often; GPU might be involved. I haven’t seen much memory-related issues, but I’m open to testing it further if needed.

Are you based in the USA and close to a Microcenter? Then visit their Knowledge Bar. Otherwise, head to any nearby computer repair shop—they can perform deeper diagnostics and replace parts if needed. Also, consider checking if your CPU cooler is the issue; enabling PBO enhancement mode in BIOS might be the culprit.

Not close enough to safely handle it, I’ll look into that setting in BIOS later.
