Initially, avoid relying solely on online speed tests, as my personal experience suggests they often reflect poor performance. Instead, consider using multiple speed test tools available online to verify consistency. Generally, iPerf is better suited for measuring Wi-Fi speeds, but web-based alternatives can help rule out internet connectivity problems. The most common cause appears to be improper antenna positioning—placing them behind your PC and having it near a wall may interfere. Also, ensure the antennas remain securely attached and haven't shifted over time.
It's a Virgin Hub 3. Often when I play games, I switch my phone's Wi-Fi off to get a stronger signal for my PC, but it doesn't work.
It depends on your router's position. If it's at the same height or higher, aligning the antennas vertically upward gives the best performance. If it's lower, pointing them downward might help, though this is uncommon. Avoid facing the antennas straight at the router.
I've shifted the PC further from the wall and experimented with the antennas, achieving 17mbps at one point. Want to try pushing it even higher? Also need to consider the best placement for the PC now—thanks!
