Internet speed is slow, however uploading remains smooth.
I recently switched to the am5 platform and just transferred my old drives/windows, but now experience strange internet speed problems. I’m using Ethernet and only get 5-30Mbps downloads, while uploads reach up to 800Mbps. The upload works fine, but downloads fluctuate and often drop completely unless I restart the system. I’ve done everything possible: updated drivers and BIOS, performed clean boots, changed cables (even tested with another PC), and tried running Linux via USB to check speeds. I have the Asus Prime X670E with a Pro Wi-Fi card and 7950x chipset. I’ve tried all the usual fixes except a fresh OS installation. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Did you disable Wi-Fi in Bios? (MS suggests testing the vulnerable Wi-Fi for networking) Likely you need a Cat6 cable because you're using 800/800Mbps SDSL. After booting briefly it runs at full speed, though some software may limit it. In the tray besides drivers, what other services are active? Are there any accounts running besides Microsoft ones? Do you have a local account or a Microsoft login for access?
I haven't turned off Wi-Fi in the BIOS, and I attached a speed test photo right after powering on. It seems a software or driver problem might be involved. I have Elgato tools and Logitech mouse drivers installed. I’m not sure if the services are set correctly, and I use a Microsoft account.
