Only a small number of consumer routers require custom firmware installation.
Really bothersome. Uncertain about adding custom firmware without risking issues.
Custom firmware has its perks, but picking the right router is crucial. It often lacks the hardware acceleration support found in standard firmware, which can slow down broadband performance. That’s why I decided against it and opted for a PC running pfSense instead.
Probably won't need another router anymore—it's still pretty new.
