I have high-speed fiber internet from my provider, but performance varies. Pages load slowly and often need refreshing. Platforms such as YouTube and Spotify sometimes freeze or lag, giving the impression of a sluggish connection. Your setup is: ISP box outside → Fiber cable → GigaPoint 803G modem → CAT6 → MSI RADIX AX6600 router → CAT6 → PC with gigabit port on an X470 board. I’m uncertain if I’ve missed a configuration step. The ISP confirms everything appears normal, yet browsing and streaming remain frustrating. I’ve used both Firefox and Chrome, tested DNS via 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8, but issues persist. Online games like World of Warcraft and Steam downloads still function smoothly.

Did you test another device on your network to check for software problems?

Consider switching to another router or, if that isn't feasible, connect your ONT directly to your PC to check for improvements.

the device we have now is another router, just purchased last week to attempt a solution. the earlier model had identical problems; both used the same setup process after the wizard auto-configured. i only changed default credentials and the network name. qos settings didn’t resolve the issue. i received an msi unit because it passed quality checks and the ai qos feature seemed promising. i plan to record a video of the problems later today to better illustrate them, and i’ll also test connecting directly to the ONT to report findings.

Updated: I established a direct link and confirmed the router needs manual setup, not automatic configuration. The ISP advised doing the auto-setup during initial configuration.
