It seems you've had similar issues in three different homes using cable internet. I recommend inspecting the area around your property for any loose connections and contacting your ISP to arrange a technician visit. They may also send someone to check their side and offer a new dedicated modem if needed. If they can't provide one, consider exploring other options.

You could ask the neighbors to inspect for loose connections on their side. Regarding your question about Shaw’s “Fibre +” system, it uses a coaxial cable to link to the modem and is described as a hybrid setup. Whether it’s classified as fiber or cable depends on how the provider categorizes it, but it likely blends both technologies.

It remains a cable service. Instead of direct fibre to your home (as with Telus), Shaw uses fibre to the node, meaning it depends on coax connections in your local area. I’d reach out and they should be able to check if the issue lies at their end or with your equipment.

I'm not certain about their use of fibre, but they advertise it as pure fibre.
