Do you have a fixed IP configured on your PC's network card? Which device are you disconnecting to make room for a network interface, and where is it connected? Are you still linked to Wi-Fi when you switch to Ethernet?

Thanks for your prompt response. I have a dynamic IP address, the Ethernet cable is connected to the mainboard port via an Intel I211 gigabit network and directly into the router. Testing with Wi-Fi both on and off shows no variation. The internet frequently disconnects throughout the house, and the “ethernet shutdown” causes complete Wi-Fi loss in the entire area.

Yes, I can set up another physical cable connecting your computer to the router.

I had tried before, but it didn’t help much. My internet was fine for about a dozen hours. Now I started a Steam game and it crashed all over the house. What do you think? Is the issue linked to Steam or comes from another source but gets activated by Steam (and other programs)? The same happened yesterday when I opened the Riot Games client.

Do you have another network card available for testing? It looks like your network controller or port might be behaving oddly, making the router or switch react strangely. If changing the physical connection doesn’t help, it’s possible malware is present on your computer. There don’t seem to be other obvious causes for this behavior.

Noted, Diablo 4 has a comparable problem. Mostly router shutdowns with odd behavior.
