: Internet Drop When Streaming A Certain Game
Since last year I started streaming my game "Identity V" with OBS. Recently, my OBS connection always drops significantly. My game ping increases to 60 to 600 ms, and my OBS bandwidth falls from 4000 to 5000 kb/s to around ±1000 kb/s. This issue only affects "Identity V". Other games such as Dead By Daylight and Dark Soul work fine. I've tried three different internet providers and none fixed the problem.
Hardware details: Intel® Core i7-4710HQ CPU @ 2.50GHz, 8 GB RAM, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit, OBS streaming program.
Any suggestions on why I'm experiencing this problem?
The next phase involves determining what happens or changes when you run Identify V.
Start by launching normally and use either Task Manager or Resource Monitor to check system performance. Use one tool at a time.
Keep the window open to monitor the situation.
Watch initially after startup but doing nothing else.
Then keep observing while engaging in light tasks or browsing.
Keep monitoring during other games where the internet remains stable.
Finally, watch while playing Identify V.
Take your time and proceed carefully.
Keep in mind you're troubleshooting, not necessarily aiming to win.
You should notice any shifts or issues when Identify V is active and the internet disconnects.
A change in resource usage, the percentage of resources being consumed, and which processes are consuming them could help.
For instance, Identity V might be starting another process that’s using network or system resources.
Or it could be experiencing bugs or corruption, which might be fixed by reinstalling or reconfiguring.
