You’re experiencing slow speeds despite a decent setup. Consider optimizing your connection, checking for interference, updating drivers, or moving closer to the extender. Also, ensure your router supports higher speeds and try switching to a wired connection if possible. Let me know if you need more tips!

Hey there. I was wondering about the internet speeds you’re using. Also, 20 meters is roughly 65 feet, and you’re an additional 32 feet beyond that. What kind of space does your setup live in? Is it inside a single-room house, with rooms connecting to each other? Are there trees or structures between the router and the extender? Obstacles like these can interfere with the signal and lead to slower connections and higher latency. Don’t stress about speed until you’ve thought about the surroundings—optimizing your environment will make a big difference, and then the rest should improve naturally.

Im in a building that isnt connected to the main house (where the modem is), between the modem and the extender is one wall (no trees or anything) and it is outside undercover, it says it has a good connection. Between the extender and I its 2 walls (no trees) and i also have nearly full bars.

Oops, missed the other query. I'm covering up to 75 Mbps with a fixed wireless NBN connection. The ping near the modem looks good.

Maybe improving the design could help, but it depends on what you're trying to achieve.

It's tough to say, but from what you describe, it seems like you're facing a challenging situation. You didn't mention your modem model, which makes things even more confusing. I'm not sure about the exact setup you're using—did you know the type of modem? The extender you mentioned (like the DLink 1620) is usually for small spaces, so it might not fit well in a larger home network. I was wondering if you could confirm the router model or the equipment you're using. That would help me better understand what you're dealing with. Experience can be useful, but sometimes a quick check of your gear makes all the difference. If your current setup already has Wi-Fi, maybe upgrading the router would be the simplest fix. You might want to explore options like Netgear or Asus for reliable performance. Let me know if you need more guidance!
