Hey there, welcome around! I’m still figuring things out. I live near your internet provider exchange, so my speed is about 80 Mbps. But when I download games or files, it caps at 9 Mbps. I’m using a wired connection straight from the router to my PC, which means no WiFi interference. I’ve checked my Ethernet settings and the motherboard has a good network controller, but nothing seems to be restricting my speed. Could there be something else going on?

The capital letters stand out, and for me, Steam lists download speeds in megabytes per second. If your Steam shows 9MBps, you’re definitely achieving the intended rate!
you check where the speed figure comes from—contract terms or download sources like Steam. be careful with the units; Mbps and Mbit/s are different. mbps divided by 8 gives megabytes per second, not bits. so 80 Mbps equals about 10 MB/s, not 9 MB. make sure you’re using the right measurement.
