Tell me about your PC's specifications. The cable you're using could be Cat 5e, and the port might not support speeds over 100mbps.

The setup won’t cap you at 10/100. I’ve tested a decently old 50ft 5e cable and still achieved near gigabit speeds. For you, the best advice is to check the adapter settings and attempt a full duplex at 1Gbps, or look into router configurations if it doesn’t work.

What router model do you use and which port is active? Have you verified that the appropriate LAN drivers are installed?

My D-Link router model is DIR-842, and I believe it can handle 1 gigabit per second.
