I've been trying to fix this issue for months and haven't been able to. Can't play Halo or update windows Windows says not connected (in network settings) and no internet, secured (under the wifi network), but I can browse the web and stream videos. I have tried ethernet, wifi, and connecting to my phone as a hotspot. I can browse the web but windows says i am not connected. I cannot update windows or play Halo online or go on the microsoft store. I have tried switching my dns settings to googles, flushing the dns, network reset, sfc scans, Dism /cleanup image/ check health type of scans. I even did windows fresh start where it keeps your files and restarts windows. I tried putting a wind0ows update on a USB drive and plugging it into the desktop thats having the issues but the windows update failed, twice. Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
Have you checked if you can find your network adapter driver and set it up yourself? Usually it’s managed through Windows Update, but sometimes I needed to install it manually for it to function properly.
Attempt to remove the network card and let Windows reinstall it. I experienced this once—connection was fine until the error appeared. After uninstalling, Windows used the default driver and restored the card. Corrupt drivers can happen; maybe the card or driver is faulty. Start by opening Device Manager, right-click the network adapter and choose Update Driver. Try that first. If unsuccessful, go to Uninstall Device. You might need to download the correct driver file before internet issues arise from outdated defaults. Then reinstall from the downloaded folder. Edited September 12, 2022 by SansVarnic
Did you verify whether your network is configured as a private or public connection?
I've attempted to update and remove the network drivers, hoping Windows would install them. I assumed my x570 master board could connect to Wi-Fi easily, but this problem persisted. I then purchased a new Wi-Fi antenna, which also failed. The issue continues, and it affects Ethernet too.
