I've noticed intermittent internet drops that occur sporadically, sometimes lasting minutes to hours before the connection resumes. I've been using a TP Link wireless adapter for a long time, but other devices on my network don't face the same issue. Recently switching to an older model adapter resolved the problem temporarily, but now it's happening again. I'm seeking suggestions to help identify the cause and narrow down the solution. The computer's position remains unchanged and the router hasn't shown any recent changes.

Do you possibly experience co-channel interference?
I rely on inSSIDer to analyze the settings of nearby networks and then modify my own channel accordingly. Unless other devices are extremely close, this should not be an issue, but it's worth verifying.

inSSIDer displays signal strengths around my location. I’m satisfied with -50dBm levels. Throughput drops to -70dBm, and connections often disconnect between -80 and -90dBm.
I have an older TP-Link AP configured on channels 8 and 12 at 2.4GHz. Most of my neighbors are still using Channel 1. I mainly connect devices like laptops, tablets, and phones via wired Ethernet—either 1GbE or 10GbE, or even 10GbE fiber optic FSP+. On these connections, I consistently achieve stable high-speed performance throughout the house.
It seems your WiFi issue might stem from something else.
How dependable is your ISP? My broadband connection has dropped several times.
