He won't share much detail since it's not his concern, but he noticed a peculiar problem with his RAM. The attached photos show four of the eight RAM slots filled with 8GB sticks to reach a total of 32GB. However, only four slots are available on the motherboard, and just two of those slots have the 8GB sticks in the second image. Any ideas?

The Task Manager’s display for slots and frequencies generally fails on systems older than the X299 model. It’s unclear why it shows twice the installed capacity.

He claimed he was a dickhead, but there were actually four extra RAM slots on the left side of the CPU. I mentioned this, noting that likely a RAM cooler was already in place and he hadn’t encountered one before.
