I’m seeking traditional JRPG experiences like Final Fantasy and EarthBound. I enjoyed Octopath Traveler and wonder if there are other recent titles offering a comparable feel.

final fantasy has shifted focus more toward action and combat, moving away from wait mode. The gameplay remains strong with characters like ff7, 8, 10, 12, 13, and 15 each bringing their unique flair. Dragon quests from Square Trails in the Sky series by Falcom are highly regarded in Japan, earning them legendary status. So far, there are about ten titles to explore. New storylines are still in development for upcoming releases. Don’t miss this one! Play in sequence: Sky 1–3, Zero, Ao (Blue), Cold Steel 1–4, Hajimari (coming soon). The story is moving well, the music is great, and the gameplay is engaging. It offers a flexible experience across different play styles. The PC version of Fairy Tail was recently released, and the Death End Request 2 is also out. There are many similar titles from the same studio—just be mindful of quality differences. Remember to check reviews without spoilers before purchasing.

I'm about three hours into the Tails series. So far, so good. A lot of reading though... And you can't skip it?

Person 4 is absolutely worth purchasing. It stands out as one of the greatest JRPGs ever created.

No, you don't have to play other Persona games. Understanding it comes from studying the content and context itself.

I definitely suggest the Yakuza series. The titles blend beat-em-up and JRPG elements. (Not sure if they're classic, but they're great, especially Yakuza 0) Let me know if this helps!

It's not that expensive. You can also find it cheaply on Steam.

Avoid skipping any part, even small side missions enhance character growth. Don’t rush through—each should be experienced multiple times.
