I need two Intel Xeon Gold 5222 CPUs, a solid setup with SSDs and ECC RAM, and a dual-socket motherboard. Some options are around $60, others over a thousand dollars. Can you help decide which one fits best?

I’d likely discard those outdated processors. A current 8-core desktop chip should outperform them, use less power and cost less. Unless you require extra memory or other capabilities, it doesn’t make sense. Check out this link: https://www.ebay.com/itm/305232515563?ep...kVsYVff9gD

Ebay and many retailers list those CPUs for over $500. I’d definitely consider selling them, even if someone gets $500 for a working pair that’s still valuable for desktop builds.

Are there any scenarios where they could be beneficial? Otherwise, consider selling them and investing in a system tailored to your requirements because they still generate a decent amount of revenue.

These are mainly i7-7700 models. Unless you need something special, it’s usually easier to just replace them instead of searching for a compatible motherboard.
