Hello, your purchase of the Intel CPU from an authorized distributor is correct. The warranty details may vary by region or product specifics. It's possible there are discrepancies in the information you received. Checking with the manufacturer or distributor directly could clarify if the 6-month coverage is accurate.

Check the packaging details and compare with the online information. Reach out to their customer service team and present your purchase proof to resolve the discrepancy. HP reduced my warranty period for my Spectre laptop by one month and adjusted it accordingly.

Intel doesn't have an exact record of your purchase date, so they likely show an estimate based on the part's production timeline. If you can share proof of when you bought it, you can include that for future warranty claims. Edit: I recently used Intel’s warranty status tool for a 10600k chip I received as a competition prize. The result read “Estimated Warranty Expiration: December 24, 2023.” That means just over three years from the date of delivery.
