I'm working on replacing my old i7-4790 CPU and have been having some discussions with a friend about the best upgrade options. To be honest, I'm not very familiar with CPU performance, so I'm eager to learn from your insights. Recently, AMD has been getting a lot of attention, which is making me even more uncertain about what to choose. My budget for this upgrade is around $1,000, which covers the motherboard and RAM. I mainly use my system for graphic design, photo and video editing, playing games, 3D modeling, and rendering. I really appreciate any advice you can offer beforehand!

Based on your scenario, the best option is a 3900X on a B550 or X570 board within a week.

Secure a 3900x with an X570 board from Intel right now lacks strong rivals in the premium range for handling multiple tasks, while offering better value. Even Intel’s HEDT is no longer competitive.
