I’m experiencing an bothersome problem where Intel Virtualization (VT-x) isn’t functioning after reinstalling Windows 11. This hasn’t happened before. From what I understand, my CPU supports virtualization and worked fine prior to the update. Here’s what’s occurring: Kaspersky Internet Security indicates hardware virtualization is turned off, while it remains active in the BIOS. The Intel Processor Identification Utility displays an “X” for VT-x with Extended Page Tables and Enhanced Halt State. Virtualization is enabled in the BIOS, yet it appears to be blocked by the operating system. What I’ve attempted: Verified that virtualization is turned on in the BIOS. Disabled Hyper-V, Virtual Machine Platform, and Windows Sandbox under Windows Features. Turned off Memory Integrity via Core Isolation in Windows Security. Ran bcdedit /set hypervisorlaunchtype off. Explored registry modifications found online. Reinstalled chipset drivers. Reset the BIOS to its default configuration. Reinstalled Kaspersky Internet Security and updated it to the latest version. Still, the issue remains unresolved. My BIOS is already current, so updating isn’t feasible. Background Info: I recently purchased a new SSD and reinstalled Windows 11 for a clean setup. The problem only emerged after the reinstall, and according to my experience, it wasn’t an issue before. PC Specifications: CPU – Intel Core i5-11400F; GPU – NVIDIA RTX 4060; RAM – 16GB DDR4 3200MHz; Storage – 1TB Gen 4 NVMe SSD, 256GB SATA SSD, 2TB SATA HDD, 500GB HDD; PSU – 650W Seasonic. What I haven’t tried: Re-installing Windows again. I’d prefer not to repeat this process as it’s time-consuming and disruptive. If anyone has encountered a similar situation or suggestions on the matter, your guidance would be greatly appreciated!
